A 50cm petrified wood tabletop on black steel — slightly more compact than its sibling, but no less extraordinary in the depth and detail of its ancient material.
At 50cm across, this version of the Staccato Table scales naturally as a lamp table, bedside surface, or secondary living room perch. The petrified wood top is the same calibre as the larger 60cm model — genuine fossilised material in which grain patterns are preserved but the substance is stone throughout.
No two petrified wood pieces match. The colours shift from warm ochres and tawny browns through to near-black, determined by the minerals that replaced the original organic material over time.
On a black powder-coated steel frame, the whole piece holds its own in contemporary interiors without the top looking like a geological exhibit.
